HOLSTEINS: Being the First Sale to disperse the noted NEWRODDIGE herd, the property of Mallaber Partners and comprising virtually the entire Milking Portion of 170 Cows and Milking Heifers, 8 Close Calving Heifers and the Entire Crop of 66 Heifer Calves born since December. This is the First Sale to DISPERSE this very good high yielding herd and features most appealing quality cattle throughout. The cattle are of great conformation and know how to milk; they have power, strength and great udders. There are 6 (EX), 40 (VG) and 66 (GP) animals selling from this very young herd that features 146 cattle milking with their 3rd or younger lactations including a wonderful group of 77 milking heifers. All year round calving with 70 calved since February. Good cow families also feature strongly including Sally, Kitty, Mandy and over 40 members of the noted Sonya family. Top sires include Overside Dictator (37 daughters sell) Kendall, Shottle, Duplex, Mr.Sam, Bullion, 4 Aces, Maestro, Loader, Samuelo and Spirte. HOLSTEINS: Being the Sale of virtually the entire Milking Portion of the CLAYDEN herd, the property of Clayden Holsteins, Clayhanger Hall, Haslington, Crewe comprising 193 Cows & Milking Heifers, 8 In-calf Heifers, 27 Heifer Calves and 2 Bull Calves. Following a very successful Sale of milking cattle in 2009, numbers have now grown necessitating another Sale and again the Entire Milking Portion (all those Saleable) are being sold. The cattle are looking tremendous with many great individuals for pedigree and commercial production. Included are 6 Excellent, 44 (VG) and 53 (GP) and 72 not yet scored. Nearly everything 3rd calf or younger including 75, 2nd calvers and 71 milking heifers. Good udders, frames and strngth are amongst the strong points and a natural will to milk. Many exceptional individuals and a huge amount of internationally famous cow families sell. Another feature is the inclusion of over 60 daughters of Shottle and 44 by his homebred son, Leematt which are just as good as his father. Other Sires include Goldwyn, Atlas, Duplex and Zenith. HOLSTEINS: Being the First Sale to disperse the Entire TERLING herd, the property of Lord Rayleighs Farms Ltd and removed from Terling Hall Farm, Terling, Nr Chelmsford, Esssex and comprising 254 Cows and Milking Heifers, 81 In-calf Heifers due from Saleday till October and approx. 50 Heifer Calves born since 1st December 2011. This is one of the largest dispersals anywhere this Spring and features a herd whose history stretches back some 130 years. The herd has a quite illustrious history within the breed but today it is very much orientated towards commercial milk production and indeed is very successful at it. The herd has a current rolling herd average of 9820 kg 3.92% 3.16%, an average daily yield of 30kg; cell counts rolling at 200 and calving index at 403. It follows an all year round calving pattern with a bias towards late summer and autumn milk production with over 100 milkers due from August to November. The herd is incredibly young with over 200 milking with their first or second lactations. The cattle are ideally suited for modern commercial milk production possessing good udders, sound legs and feet and not too tall. The In-calf Heifers are a fabulous group of cattle, being well grown, showing good udder promise and good condition. The major sire in the milkers are Devoted, Wildman, Icefyre, Baxter, Calypso, Augusta, Suede, Gillette Capital whilst the bred heifers are mainly by Outbound, Mr Minister, Digital, as well as Wildman, Augusta and Capital. The Heifer Calves are by top sires in the Alta stud as well as the Oman Stock Bull Curtismill Halo. Management is based on a TMR feeding diet and No parlour feeding, all are housed in cubicles. Good Health Status - TB 4yr(just tested), regularly screened Johnes, vacc for IBR & BVD but NOT Lepto.

DISPERSAL SALE: Being the sale of the entire commercial milking portion of the herd, the property of BOURNES OF BICKERTON, Malpas. This is a very genuine sale which is full of cows which are ideally suited for modern dairying, medium sized, strong with tremendous width. They display fantastic udders, and walk on great feet and legs. The youth of this herd is impressive with almost 50% of the animals in the sale being 2nd calf or less. Durability has always been key and on inspection it is evident. The herd is managed strictly commercial in approach, fed on a semi TMR ration at the barrier with a top up concentrate being fed in the herringbone parlour, where they are milked twice daily and during the winter months housed in cubicles. The herd runs with Bulls constantly and because of this boasts a real impressive calving index, calving pattern is all year round. On milk sales, they are currently averaging 7300 kg. They all come highly recommended.

Being the Dispersal of the Entire HAFESP herd upon the instructions of the Administrators of the Estate of E A Davies Dec’d, t/a W Davies & Son, comprising 217 Cows and Heifers In-milk, 43 In-calf Heifers, 32 Served Heifers, 118 Maiden Heifers born 2010, 66 Maiden Heifers born January to August 2011, 83 Heifer Calves and 1 Willsbro bred Stock Bull. This is a wonderful herd of cattle and only for sale due to the recent sad and tragic death of the late Arthur Davies, a wonderful man, respected by all. The legacy he has left is a herd of exceptional merit and type and production; the cows are powerful, wide, not too tall and have on the whole great udders and legs and feet. Many top scoring and classy individuals sell. All year round calving but still over 100 cows calving from October to February. The herd is also very young with 175 animals milking with their 1st, 2nd or 3rd lactations, including 71 milking heifers. Management is good - Semi-TMR, 2X daily milkign and cubicles. THE WESTERN HOLSTEIN CLUB’S TENTH ANNIVERSARY SHOW & SALE OF 164 FRESH CALVED HOLSTEINS “The Largest Choice anywhere in the UK” Comprising 42 Fresh Calved Young Cows (nearly all 2nd/3rd calvers), 110 Fresh Heifers, 13 Maiden Heifers and Heifer Calves and 11 Embryo Packages. This Sale of fresh calved animals includes a number of superb individuals ideal for the Pedigree Breeder (but mainly lots of heavy milkers for the Commercial Milk Producer) and feature a 4th gen VG second calf Show Cow from Styche and a potential 3rd gen VG Red & White PI Second calf Show Cow from Preview. The Heifers include an outstanding GP84-2yr Goldwyn Nugget from Aintree with a classic pedigree and a tremendous , yet unscored Shottle with 8 gens VG/EX from the Woodmarsh Lyme family. The re-arranged very important WEDNESDAY 6th JANUARY (11.00 am) Whitehouse Farm, Puddington ,South Wirral. CH64 5SQ ***175 PI HOLSTEIN HEIFERS Comprising the entire crops of calved, served and maiden heifers from the noted DEEHAVEN herd, the property of Mr Sam Noble. This is the Second Sale to disperse this special herd, which has a 40 year history of pure North American breeding. The sale contains 23 calved heifers, 40+ served heifers due February onwards, over 60 strong heifers and some 40 heifer calves born in 2009. The NMR avg. when the milking herd was sold last June was 10,400kg 4.2%F 3.1%P. 50 of the dams have given over 12,000kg. 23 of the dams are classified Excellent, 75 are Very Good and 46 Good Plus. (90% GP or better). No less than 21 heifers are bred from 5 or more successive generations of EX / VG dams. The heifers are of tremendous size and display excellent qualities throughout. The Dispersal sale of the SWAFFHAM herd of 346 pedigree holsteins, comprising 196 milking cows and heifers, 49 in-calf heifers, 51 yearlings, 49 heifer calves and 1 holstein stock bull. The milking portion follows an all year round calving pattern which is fairly evenly spread throughout the year except for October when some 35 are due to calve. It is also full of young cows with 152 milking with their third or younger lactations including 63 milking heifers. In winter the herd is housed in cubicles. The most recent rolling herd average is 8619 kg. 3.87% butterfat and 3.17% protein; cell counts are rolling at 199 and calving index at 419.
