HOLSTEINS : The Western Holstein Club’s Monthly Show and Sale. Comprising 34 Cows and Calved Heifers, 2 Served Heifers,35 Maiden Heifers and 1 Heifer Calf from the herds of leading Breeders. The Milkers include a Goldwyn Celeste Full Sister to last months’s Reserve Champion, a VG87-2yr Shottle with 5(EX) dams, a 12 gen VG/EX Papoose, a 9 gen. VG EX Baxter/Brianne and a very smart Lightning with 6 gen VG/EX from Aintree Tellar family. The consignment of Maiden Heifers features a major reduction from the noted AINTREE herd of Aintree Holsteins Ltd, Shordley, Wrexham and includes numerous classy individuals ideal for replacement and heifer rearing. Many top individuals included such as RES.CHAMPION CALF at last years Dairy Event as well as being Hon.MENTION JNR HEIFER 2011. Others include members of their noted NUGGET family including an ALTAIOTA and a GEN-I-BEQ BOLTON as well as DESTRY from the DEBRA family. High health status. Pre-movement tested from 4yr TB Welsh parish. All had Rispoval 4. Herd regularly screened for Johnes, always with negative titreis. HOLSTEINS: Being the Entire NEATISHALL herd, the property of JH & PE Nicholson Ltd (Louis and Fran Baugh), Neatishead Hall, Norwich and comprising 122 Cows and Milking Heifers, 67 In-calf and Served Heifers and 105 Maiden Heifers and Heifer Calves. This is an outstanding high yielding herd and it’s quality from oldest to youngest cannot be over estimated. Brilliant cows with width, power, wonderful udders, legs and feet and stunning youngstock in all age groups. In the Sale are 12(EX), 59(VG) and 40(GP) and only 5 (G). Herd is young and includes 49 Milking Heifers, 40 seconds and 19 thirds. All year round calving pattern with bias towards autumn and winter production. Many great individuals and wonderful cow families including Ricki, Leola, Marq, Rosina, Marie, and the wonderful Red factor Pollula’s. Top sires dominate the catalogue and the 35 daughters (including 26 milkers) of Damion are fabulous and a feature of the Sale. Others by Duplex, Decker, Dolman, Laurin, Bolton and Ross. Young Stock mainly by Laramee Mor, Blade, Mr Sam, Xacobeo, Gerrard, Wisconson Red and Shottle. Management is tremendous. TMR, cubicle housing, herringbone parlour. Herd Average rolling at 11751 kg 3.89% and cell counts 166 at the last recording. 4yr TB. No evidence of Johnes. Lepto vacc but not IBR and BVD. Just a super herd of high yielding cattle and one of the best and most genuine herds to be sold anywhere this year.

HOLSTEINS: Being the Entire Unregistered, NMR Recorded herd of Holstein Friesian Dairy Cows including some Swedish Red First Crosses, comprising 172 Cows and Milking Heifers and 83 Maiden Heifers. The In-calf Heifers are being retained and will be sold fresh as they calve; on behalf of E R Owen & Sons, Plas Uchaf, Llanfaethlu, Holyhead, Anglesey and removed to Beeston Castle Auction for Sale convenience. This is one of the best commercial herds offered for Sale for many seasons - the cows and youngstock are tremendous in all age groups. The cows have great udders lots of width and lots of durability. All year round calving and a very young herd with over 100 milking with 1st, 2nd, 3rd lacts and including more than sixty milking heifers. Management very good, Semi-TMR, cubicles, herringbone parlour. Herd average 10216 kg 4.01% 3.21% CC 142. Calving index 416. Average daily yield 31.7kg. Good sires which dominate the catalogue include Picston Shaker (42 dtrs sell) as well as several by Roberto, Spooky, Phil, Loader and Lynbrook Morty. Youngstock mostly by Spooky, Loader, Prestwick and Woodmarsh Metallic. Good health status. 4yr TB parish but all Welsh cattle pre-movement tested. Vacc IBR, BVD, Lepto. No evidence Johnes disease. This is a tremendous herd and highly recommended.
